Over abundant garden!

We were able to get our garden planted this year. Since this was the first year for it, we figured we wouldn't have much luck. Instead, we have had almost more than we can handle. We have had some great lettuce, broccoli, onions, and green beans so far. The tomatoes are just starting to come in. We experimented this year with broccoli & carrots. We started pulling some of the carrots this weekend and they are HUGE! Below are some pictures of Jake with our giant carrots. He also helped haul them in with his dump truck.

Choo Choo Trains

Jake loves trains. Here are some train pictures from the summer. The first is Jake playing with his train set that his cousin Tristin gave him. This is really the first thing that he has sat and played with by himself for a long time!

Jake in front of the train at The Children's Museum. He loved this exhibit and we had to visit it twice.
Jake went for a train ride with Mamaw and Papaw earlier this summer. Here he is with Papaw on the train.

Children's Museum

We went to the Children's Museum last week. We were supposed to go to a farm with some friends, but it rained. Jake had a lot of fun at the museum though, so I don't think he minded the change of plans.
Here is Jake pretending to be a mommy dinosaur and taking care of the eggs.

Walking With Dinosaurs

Jake, Daddy, & Uncle Matt went to see Walking with Dinosaurs last week. Jake really liked seeing the dinosaurs, especially T-Rex. He was a little scared though and sat on Daddy's lap the entire time. He would look at the dinosaurs quickly and then hide his face in Daddy's shirt.

A Rain Delayed 4th of July

We spent a rainy July 4th at Nana & Pop's house. Since the downtown fireworks were rained out, we were able to go and enjoy them on the 5th. Jake wasn't too sure of them at first, but really liked them by the end.

Camping at Clifty Falls

We went hiking two weekends ago to Clifty Falls State Park. We picked one of the hottest weekends of the year to camp. Despite the heat, we were able to get a few hikes in during the morning. Jake loved hiking!! We went of parts of 4 different trails and saw 3 waterfalls, a cave, and got to climb the observation tower. Below are a few pictures of Jake hiking. He really loved all of the stairs we got to climb.
