Estes Park, Colorado 2012

We are having a lot of fun on our 2 week Fall Break.  Last week, we drove from Indy to Cheyenne, Wyoming to see Uncle Geoff's house.  Then the entire family headed down to Estes Park for a week long vacation.

4 adults, 2 children (aged 5 & 2), 1 packed Suburban, and 21 hours of driving = TONS OF FUN!!!!

We hit some snow in Sidney, Nebraska.  There was snow in Wyoming too, but it melted quickly.

We celebrated Cousin Peyton's 2nd birthday at his house in Wyoming.  The boys loved playing with him and all of his different toys.

We made it to the Alpine Visitor Center on its last day before closing for the winter.

Twin Sisters Hike - Geoff, Mike, Melissa, & Gerry
Geoff convinced us to take this hike.  7.4 miles, 2400+ feet of elevation gain.  We started at about 9,000 feet and went to 11,428ft.  Once we got above the treeline, the temperatures dropped to 30's and there was at least a 50 mph wind.  Brrrrrr....
View of the RMNP fires.  These fires started on our second day.

If you look real close, you can see me (green coat) running down the trail towards the trees.  I was frozen solid and needed thaw out.

Enjoying a fire in the evening.

Bear Lake was closed due to the fires, so we decided to hike at Lily Lake.  How long does a 0.9 mile trail take with a 5 year old and two 2 year olds?

No luck getting a picture with Mamaw and Papaw!
